The passing of my sister-in-law’s grandmother, although I saw it coming, still came as a hurtful surprise to me. She was 90 years old and although it was a long life she lived, her family is still wishing for her to have had a longer life to live because they still want to be with her. She was very loved because she was a good woman with a good heart and soul.

Her viewing is scheduled on Friday and she will be buried next week. I already picture out what it will look like with all the chairs4worship surrounding her coffin before she will be buried, just like what we had at my late husband’s burial. Such a sad thought, but such is life. May her soul rests in peace.

My good friend has been going through a difficult phase in her life now and I feel for her. Who wouldn’t? One of her friends that she trusted betrayed her. But she is trying to be positive despite the pain. And the words below were what she posted on her Facebook wall today. All I could say was…’Amen to that!’

Jealous, angry and fearful thoughts and feelings take us away from our own path… our own purpose. But a straight path doesn’t admit compromises. These negative thoughts strip us of our power and ability to act effectively. If we think fearful thoughts we become afraid and act defensively. This pushes away other people and other possibilities away from us. And so we become lonelier and more afraid.

Happy thoughts connect us with the light, confidence and courage to act… to the power to believe. To live our lives according to our hopes and dreams not somebody else´s.

Positive thoughts are not enough. There have to be positive feelings and positive actions.

We Were Fooled About the Pool

Although we totally had a blast on our recent trip, I also had a disappointment. But it was only a mild one; nothing big. To tell you, I was excited because the hotel that we were staying at had a pool. But I didn’t realize that we still had cool days in spring, so their pool won’t open until summer. They don’t have those rheem pool heaters so they had to wait until full warm weather is here before they will open the pool to their occupants.

My son was excited about the pool too. Oh well, maybe we’ll just find us a pool this summer where we can splash and enjoy.

Maybe We’ll Do it Again and Renew Our Vows

Whenever I see a wedding photo, I get nostalgic. Our neighbor’s sister attended and was part of a wedding entourage last week and she posted a photo on Facebook of her and all the other bridesmaids in their bridesmaid dresses along with the bride. The motif was yellow so they were all wearing yellow, but in different designs. It was really pretty.

My wedding motif was red and I didn’t have a bridesmaid then, but a maid of honor only which was my stepdaughter. Talking about this now is making me nostalgic again. What can I say? My wedding day is such a special day to reminisce about.

Haters don’t really hate you, they hate themselves cause you’re a reflection of what they wish to be.

One of my Facebook friends posted this on her wall today and I couldn’t agree more. Don’t you wonder sometimes why there are such kind of people – the haters? I think the answer to that is only one. They are NOT HAPPY with their lives and what happens next is they couldn’t be happy for others too. Then comes hate.

Poor people. I really pity them. They are just ruining their lives by doing that.

My Son’s a Rocker

After my son gets home from school and done with his homework, the first thing he does is open YouTube and from then on until dinner, he will be listening to Linkin’ Park’s music videos. I like watching videos too especially when it is a live concert. More so, when I am actually watching a live concert for real. It is really different compared to just listening to CDs or DVDs. The sound is totally different.

I do wonder if they use additional instruments compared to when they were just recording it in a studio. Also, do they use a keyboard synthesizer like that of Moog? I am totally clueless about certain musical instruments, but I am certain about one thing: I am a music lover and I always will be.

We Could Swing Away

I love staying outside when the weather is nice. It’s either I play basketball with my son, or I just sit and relax on our back deck outdoor furniture with the husband, or just talking with the husband on the front porch looking at our newly-made flower garden. It would be nice to have a canopy swing at the front porch where the husband and I could sit while looking at our garden. That would really be nice, not to mention romantic.

But we have to do more stuff in our garden so that will take a back seat for now. It is on the top of my to-do list though. I believe the husband would really love it.

I do believe in that saying that is why I always have a smile on my face wherever we go. Not when I am in a bad mood though. LOL. Seriously, I always smile back at people who smiles at me. But there are some people who probably have a hard time doing that simple gesture. There were times that I smiled at them and they didn’t smile back. They probably didn’t know that it would give them more wrinkles by doing that. Hehe.

Well, they’re not probably in a good mood. I will just think of it that way.

A Room With a View, But Not a View In

I didn’t know what roman shades were until I saw a home makeover on HGTV today. We never used such back home since we were accustomed to using curtains. And it is what I incorporated here at our home too. Those roman shades would have been nice in our bedroom because it definitely gives privacy.

Well, maybe that will be my next choice once I get tired of looking at these curtains here. I hope the husband will agree with me though.

I’m Ready to Boogie Down the Road!

We finally found the car for me. Yes! We went to look at it yesterday and both the husband and I really like what we saw. And today will be a busy day for the husband because he’s going to get the car from the seller and process the necessary and important documents needed.

We didn’t have to avail of any car loan like that of car title loans dallas because we bought the car with cash. It is a pre-owned car, but it still looks brand-new because it was slightly used by the owner because she had two cars. We were so lucky about that and I am so happy as well as super excited. My car will be parking in our driveway tonight and I can’t wait to ride in it. And even more so, I can’t wait till I get my license and get to drive ’er! Yeah!
